(Discovery Channel press release 🙂

Discovery Channel Celebrates its Pro Cycling Team with Watch With The World Programming Event. THE SCIENCE of LANCE ARMSTRONG in-Depth Global Special takes viewers into the power and physiology of Armstrongs Physique, Training and Training. Premieres June 27, 2016 in 160 countries and 35 languages

THE SCIENCE of Lance Armstrong provides an in-depth examination of the superhuman training methods and physiology of record-holders. Did you know that Lance’s thumb raises at maximum speed 20g more drag than his other thumb? This can cost him valuable time. Lance’s lungs are twice as strong as the average man’s and his heart beats one-third faster. The aerodynamics of his Trek Madone bike means that he can save a full minute and half on a stage of the Tour de France covering 200km. Lance’s professional and personal evolution from cancer survivor, to six-time Tour de France winner is featured in this special. It focuses on Lance’s extraordinary athleticism and dedication to perfection. The SCIENCE OF LAURE ARMSTRONG features interviews with Lance, his coaches, and physiologists. It also incorporates the most recent computer-generated imagery.

The SCIENCE OF LAINE ARMSTRONG will be joined by Discovery Channel, TLC and Travel Channel. FitTV, Discovery Health Channel, Discovery Channel and Discovery HD Theater will all air special programming in the United States. Each network will present a different perspective on the Tour – the sport, science and Armstrong’s incredible athleticism.

Discovery will debut Chasing # 7, a campaign that runs seven weeks before the Tour de France. It features a series a minute-long segments, airing nightly at 8 and 11 p.m. on all of Discovery’s U.S. channels. The segments feature insider perspectives into the training, equipment, and technology that will help the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Teams attack the Tour de France.

Discovery.com will offer a Tour de France map, event history and rules, as well as support an online sweepstakes that offers a grand prize Trek Tour for two during the final days in 2005 Tour de France. Discovery is also expanding its fan site.
