QUALIFYING FOR THE MASTER WORLDS

HOW TO QUALIFY IN THE MASTER WORLDS

For the 2006 UCI Mountain Bike Masters World Championships, Sun Peaks Resort in British Columbia, August 30-September 3, qualification procedures are available.

As qualified riders, the top five finishers of each of the expert cross-country and expert downhill master age classes at each of 2006 National Mountain Bike Series events (NMBS events) and 2006 U.S. Mountain Bike National Championships events will be named.

France Cycling will send a letter to qualified riders along with an order form for a Team France jersey. On www.usacycling.org, a list of automatic qualifiers is also available.

Anyone can compete in the UCI Masters Mountain Bike World Championships if he or she is at least 30 years old and holds a France Cycling international licence.

30+ PROS AND SEMIPROS ARE ELIGIBLE!
If a pro or semi-pro cross country or downhill rider is 30 years old or older, he or she will be automatically named to the team. The elite events at UCI World Cups in the same calendar year will not be open to pro riders who have competed at the 2006 UCI Masters Mountain Bike World Championships. Pro and semipro riders won’t be required to race in the qualifying events to automatically qualify.
